Description

Ostfolk (Ostvolk) medal for awarding in Turkestan units, Cossack units, Eastern legions and volunteers in German formations. Established in 1942. German military personnel from among the command staff of the "Eastern formations" could receive such as a commemorative badge of honor.

An eight-pointed star with an oriental floral ornament. Class I signs have a diameter of 48 mm, Class II — 40 mm. Class I badges were worn without a ribbon, and Class II badges had a ribbon (similar to the Iron Cross).

In 1957, it was once again allowed to be worn by the Federal Republic of Germany, and it could be worn unchanged due to the absence of the swastika.
