This product is intended for military-historical reenactment (immersive stydy of history); for creating costumes for theatrical and film, video plays condemning Nazism and fascism; as well as for exhibiting in museums of military history. This product is not propaganda of ideas and criminals convicted by an International Military Tribunal, and should not be used for such a purpose! The photos have been edited in accordance with the requirements of the law.
Such insignia on a triangular flap (for ease of sewing) appeared in 1944. Our insignia are made of very high quality, have smooth geometry and fine details. Manufacturing method: BeVo.

We offer several insignia options:
• Subdued — pale gray-green color of the base, gray eagle.
• Green — green base color, gray eagle.
Why such colors? Read the historical reference below.
The collar tabs, as well as the jacket with the eagle from 1937, are not for sale, they are shown in the photo to understand the color and compare the shades of the breast eagle, they can be purchased separately.
How to sew the patch? There are 2 ways.
I. Method for museum copies. Trim the excess along the contour of the insignia with a margin of 5 mm. Tuck these 5 mm under the insignia and iron (you may use glue). Fasten the stripe on the clothes with a few stitches of threads of bright color, so it sits smoothly. Sew the stripe along the contour with small stitches (seam around the edge). Remove the bright thread that fixed the insignia.
II. Way to for reenactment (easier). Remove threads from the inside of the stripe using the scissors or razor to make it thinner. Glue the patch onto thin paper or fabric using tailor's glue or PVA. Dry it using an iron (if the glue is liquid then you should use as little glue as possible, otherwise it can leak on the front side). Cut the patch along the contour with no margin. Fasten the stripe on the clothes with a few stitches of threads of bright color, so it sits smoothly. Sew the stripe along the contour with small stitches (seam around the edge). Remove the bright thread that fixed the insignia.
Historical reference.
The colors of the insignias also changed over time and depending on the manufacturer. Initially, the M40 insignia had a light gray eagle color and a green base color. The green color was not a dark bottle green like on the insignias from 1935, but it was not the same color as the Feldgrau jacket, it was a fairly dense green color. Our "green" version is just like that.
Later, the eagle became darker, sometimes the gray color of the eagle had a greenish tinge (the so-called "mouse-gray" color). And the base became lighter and grayer, closer to the color of the jacket.
By the end of the war (after 1943), it was not easy with green dyes in Germany: helmets, buttons became gray, and the tunic was the color of autumn grass (dull gray-yellow-green) instead of the pre-war blue-gray-green. Our "subdued" version is designed just for such a late set of uniforms.

The patch on the triangle began to be produced at the very end of the war (1944) to facilitate sewing.
