Description

Collar tabs with white stripes (mod. 1935) — for field uniform of the Wehrmacht (Heer) infantry. Before the war, they were sewn not on the collar, but on a rectangular backing — substrate of collar (dark green) cloth, which, in turn, was attached to the collar with a straight machine stitch (or invisible stitches by hand).

The price is for a couple of collar tabs (kit for one jacket).

These BeVo collar tabs (woven) are the total copy of the originals. Original "Litzen" were made in the form of a tape, and before sewing they were cut and bent in a special way to get "reels". It takes a lot of skill! Our collar-tabs are already bent and sewn onto the substrate. It will not be difficult to sew them to the collar.

Shades of color in the photo may differ slightly from the color on the product. Dark green cloth may not be exactly the same as on your jacket. You can use liquid-diluted acrylic paint for tinting (to match the colors of the substrate and collar) or leave it as it is.

How to sew the collar tabs?

First, apply a collar tab to the collar and place evenly. Approximately 0,5-1 cm from the edges of the collar and parallel to these edges. After that you may fix the tabs with a bright thread (which is then removed) or glue. After that start to sew them with tiny stitches over the edge. Use a thread in colour of the fabric. The stitches should be invisible and neat. Sometimes such collar tabs were sewn on a sewing machine along the edge.

Historical reference.

Collar tabs on a dark green background with stripes in a branch colour (Waffenfarbe - "color of weapon") introduced by order of September 10, 1935 (from 1935 to 1939 the collars were dark green). Before the war, they were sewn not directly on the collar, but on a rectangular substrate of collar (dark green) cloth first.
