Description
This canopy is designed for a standard 2 × 3 m market tent like the one shown in the reference photo. It covers only the upper part of the tent—the roof—and has no sidewalls. The fabric measures approximately 6 × 2 m when laid out. It is sewn in the shape of a pitched roof and has ties along the sides for fastening it to the frame crossbars. Only the roof canopy is included; the frame and side panels are not supplied.
If necessary, the canopy can be erected without the original frame using suitable beams, poles or crossbars. It is practical for a reenactment market stall, field camp or hiking trip. The finished canopy can also be used as donor material: its shape can be altered, the fabric shortened or additional fastening points added.
The main advantage is complete protection from rain. The synthetic fabric remains waterproof even during heavy and prolonged rain because its inner face has a continuous silicone or rubber-like waterproof coating. The outer face carries the Splinter camouflage pattern in brown, green and light shades, and the fabric has a diagonal twill weave. The seams and edges are finished.
