The olive Zeltzubehörtasche tent accessory bag is a reproduction of an early German pattern used to carry poles and pegs for the Zeltbahn shelter quarter.
The bag is made of dense olive green cotton canvas. Its flap closes with two aluminium three-hole buttons, while two natural leather straps with metal buckles secure the load from the outside. The buttonholes on the flap are oversewn and finished by hand.
The bag is specially aged to match the uniform of a seasoned soldier: the fabric looks used rather than new, while the hardware is original. Each bag has an individual appearance.
Bag size: approximately 40 × 14 cm. This reproduction is suitable for reenactment equipment, historical displays and practical storage of tent accessories.
The bag bears the manufacturer ink stamp GUSTAV WINKLER Berlin 1939.
Historical reference.
The triangular Zeltbahn 31 shelter quarter was introduced in 1931 and served as an individual shelter, rain poncho and component of larger field tents. Several quarters could be buttoned together to create shelters of different sizes.
Each shelter quarter was issued with a two-metre Zeltleine 92 rope, one wooden Zeltstock 01 pole section approximately 37 cm long and two Zeltpflöcke 29 pegs approximately 26 cm long. The accessories were sometimes carried in a purpose-made Zeltzubehörtasche, although they were often rolled directly inside the folded shelter quarter.
A four-man pyramidal tent used four Zeltbahn quarters, four central pole sections and eight pegs. Accessory bags were produced in field grey and olive fabrics, with variants featuring leather straps and the characteristic aluminium three-hole buttons.
