Description

Technical button for clothes and military equipment. Made of two halves and covered with black lacquer.

On the button there is a brand of the manufacturer "Мосштамп" and the name of the city "Moscow". The inscription "Мосштамп" became the most common after 1954, however, even in earlier years there were buttons with different manufacturer's markings.

Buttons are suitable for military history reconstruction and assembly of original items in collections and museums. Size 16 mm was usually found on the covers of flasks and the belt of trousers, size 13 mm - in other places on clothes.

Historical reference.

Initially, smooth buttons, buttons with a small pattern, or with the inscription "ПРОМПУГОВИЦА", "УПК МООВОС №1" etc. were common for sewing military uniforms for soldiers of the Red Army. After the establishment of "ГОСТ" (state all-union standard) for the production of buttons in 1954, buttons with the brand of the manufacturer "МОСШТАМП" became most widespread. Although other buttons also continued to be used for tailoring uniforms.
