Silver-coloured braided cord made of metallic threads, white infantry piping, and a black wool-cloth base. Removable shoulder boards with cloth tongues and buttonholes. Not synthetic fibre or lurex. Approximate size: 11 × 4 cm.

In the Waffen-SS, shoulder-board piping colour (Waffenfarbe) identified the service branch: white for infantry, scarlet for artillery, rose-pink for armoured troops, lemon yellow for signals, golden yellow for cavalry and reconnaissance, and cornflower blue for the medical service. Braid patterns and metal pips indicated rank.
