Description

The tent-raincoat Zeltbahn is made of dense cotton cotton duck material, which exactly copies the German tent fabric. It works against water due to a very dense weave of threads, which, when wet, swell and, remaining wet, do not let water through. In this fabric, if you look at the sun, there are no gaps between the threads (on any other cheap copy there are).

The camouflage completely copies the original pattern, this pattern is 1.3 by 2 meters with neatly reproduced unique camouflage. On the one side, the colors are for autumn (brownish-red), on the other for summer (green leaves against the ground). On cheap copies, the camo scheme is either not unique (and a small piece is looped several times), or it does not match the original (just something similar is drawn).

Dark blocks of spots along the edge allow the camouflage to be joined when assembling canvases into a tent so that the camouflage flows from one canvas to another and does not repeat itself. An idea that was developed before the war, but did not survive it due to its technical complexity and low practical usefulness, but nevertheless interesting and unique.

Planetree 5/6 camouflage, made on an early substrate of asymmetrical amoeba-like spots. Later, Oak camouflage was used as a substrate.

The edges and neck are lined with Oakleaf camouflage, which means that this tent could have been made in 1940-1941, according to historical logic. It has the brand "Warei"-Zeltbahn D.R.P. 1940, which was placed on the earliest tents, D.R.P. stands for a patent, since the idea of a universal cloth for protection from rain and the assembly of tents of various configurations was patented.

The buttons are aluminum with three holes. The eyelets are aluminum. Stitching of the canvas with a thick gray thread. Sewing buttons with thick white leather thread (as in the original).

The ropes that the pegs cling to when installing the tent are already included.

Why the discount?

This tent has a disadvantage: holes from sewn and cut buttons along the bottom edge and at one end is stained with glue (it does not wash off). Sold at a discount. The photo is below.

Whether the Zeltbahn is waterproof?

At the beginning of the XX century, the material for tents was a dense fabric: the tighter lay the threads to each other during the creation of the fabric, the worse it passes water. It's about drops of water or rain, they flow down from the surface of the tent, and do not seep inside. But at the same time the tent does not remain dry, the threads from which the fabric is made, absorb water and become wet. That's enough to get shelter from the rain. However, every tourist in the twentieth century knew: if, being in a tent in the rain, to touch it from the inside, soon a drop will begin to gather at this point. Also with a Zeltbahn: it will get wet faster in the place where it touches the shoulders. As a result: the material of the tent can be wetted, it can be washed, but with proper handling it saves from the weather. The material of the tent does not have a coating of rubber or nano-materials, it is a product of the XX century technology, designed for reenactment! Therefore, it does not give 100% protection from water, which gives cellophane, but allows you to hide from the rain or the sun.
