A very beautifully crafted cotton webbing strap.
It has two clamping bars for better retention of the long tail. All hardware is high-quality reproductions, made of steel, coated in gray protective paint. The buckle is stamped v.H&Co, and the tip is stamped LUX.
The overall length, including the buckle, is approximately 66 cm, allowing it to hold any kind of bedroll, pot, or even several pieces of gear.

Webbing straps were first made for tropical climates, including during the war in Africa by Rommel's corps (Deutsche Afrika Korps, DAK). Unlike leather, cotton webbing gear was resistant to high temperatures and dry air (common in desert warfare). However, after the African Campaign, webbing gear was used on both the Western and Eastern Fronts.
A webbing strap with two extended pressure bars was originally used as part of an A-frame (which itself appeared in 1939). A single A-frame had three such straps: two were fixed vertically (to hold a groundsheet) and one ran freely horizontally (for a mess kit). This horizontal strap could be inserted and removed from the A-frame, so it was often used separately.
It was used to attach various equipment: mess kits, groundsheets, overcoat rolls, and special equipment. It is an extended version of the standard extension.
