It was used to attach various equipment: pots, raincoats (yes, it fits them too), greatcoat rolls, special equipment. It is a simplified version of the strap with a leather clamping bar (which allowed you to detach the equipment without unraveling the strap). The total length with the buckle is about 57 cm.
It has a leather clamping bar. There are straps with a stamp on the strap, there are empty ones (stamps on such equipment were rare). All fittings are high-quality recreated copies, made of steel, in gray protective paint. On the buckle there is a stamp v.H&Co, on the tip there is a stamp LUX.

They started making them for tropical climates, including for the war in Africa by Rommel's corps (Deutsche Afrika Korps - "Deutsche Afrika Korps", - DAK). Items of equipment made of cotton webbing were not afraid of high temperatures and dry air (a common thing in desert warfare), unlike leather ones. But after the African campaign, items made of webbing were found on the Western and Eastern fronts.
