Description
The badge is embroidered on a blue-gray cloth. It was attached to the tunic with a thread (sewn on) so as not to interfere during jumps. The insignia is a wreath of oak leaves on one side and laurel leaves on the other side, intertwined with a ribbon at the bottom. A diving eagle made of gilded thread is inscribed in the wreath, holding a swastika in its paws.

23 September 1935, the Hermann Göring regiment became part of the Luftwaffe. At the expense of volunteers from the regiment, the 1st battalion of the General Goering parachute regiment and the 15th engineer company of the General Goering regiment were formed. 5 November 1936, Goering decided to establish a qualification badge for airborne troops. The description of the mark and the requirements for its issuance were published on 16 November 1936 in the Bulletin of the Luftwaffe Orders.
