Description

The Red Army summer cap, model 1924, is made from original 1970s military camp tent canvas.

The star is not included with the cap and is sold separately. The photographs show the cap with a star to demonstrate its complete appearance. The star is a high-quality brass and enamel reproduction.

Available in sizes 56–60.

Historical reference.

The summer cap for all branches of the Red Army was introduced by Order No. 641 of the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR dated 13 May 1924, replacing the summer cloth helmet. It was made from khaki linen tent canvas or cotton tent cloth treated with a water-repellent compound.

The cap consisted of a band, crown, oval top, fabric visor and chinstrap. A Red Army star was fixed to the front of the band.
