How to choose the size?

You can choose the size remotely by choosing the size of the table itself. You will need a flexible meter or at least a rope. Measure similar smock or jacket that fits you. Size description:
• Chest girth — recommended bare-chest girth for a the smock size, to be worn over a sweater and tunic; in brackets the corresponding European size.
• Between the cuffs — the smock is lying on the floor, the sleeves are spread out, measure in a straight line between the elastic bands (including the elastic bands).
• Back height — the length of the back of a smock from neck to the elastic at the waist, including the elastic.
• Breast width — smock is lying on the floor, measure from armpit to armpit below the sleeves.
• Min. waist — minimum waist around held by an elastic band.

The main size of the smock is the chest girth. You need to start with it. Other sizes either depend on it or are listed for reference. If you choose the size according to the principle “well, I wear L”, then you can be mistaken, because L is a conditional size, which means simply “large”. Divide centimeters by 2,54 to get inches.

Description

A copy of the SS camo smock model 1940 (the so-called 1st model) in camouflage "Oak" (Eichenlaubmuster). The blouse has slots on the chest for access to the pockets of the field blouse. There are no pockets on the smock itself.

The blouse is completely invertible, two-sided (green shades for summer on one side and brown shades for autumn on the other side). The fabric is thick and dense. 

Since 1940, the elastic band on the neck has disappeared and the front opening with lacing has become more elegant and functional. Since 1941, such models were sewn from fabric in camouflage "Oak". Early blouses (before 1943) are characterized by a short skirt, which it was customary to tuck up under the belt to have a tightened look.

Historical reference.

Bilateral camouflage blouse began to produce from the material "Oak" immediately after its appearance in 1941, the year. The blouse has vertical slots on the chest for access to the pockets of the uniform.

The “Oak” camouflage appeared as a lining pattern under the “Planetree” camouflage, however, after adding 2 colors, it began to be produced as a separate full-fledged camouflage. Camouflage "Oak" is very beautiful, thanks to the bright and saturated colors and easily recognizable characteristic shape of the spots.

The blouse was used until the end of 1943, despite the appearance of the M42 model, the SS men during the battle of Kursk fought in such early blouses.
